Pink on the Dirt Program
Project overview
For this project, I designed a front and back event program for the Pink on the Dirt luncheon, supporting the Stampede for the Cure Non-profit. The event's mission is to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer screenings and education. The design challenge was to create a visually engaging and organized layout that honored the cause while reflecting a western, rodeo-inspired aesthetic. I chose a strong pink background to reinforce the event’s branding and used custom western-themed illustrations, including detailed cowboy boots, to add personality and visual interest. This project was completed in Adobe Illustrator, utilizing organized layers for easy file management and future editing. Through this design, I focused on delivering a professional yet heartfelt piece that captures the spirit of community, hope, and support.

Target audience
The target audience is majorly focused on women aged 18-70 and people who support breast cancer awareness. The program was designed for community members, donors, sponsors, breast cancer survivors, and advocates attending the Pink on the Dirt luncheon, with a focus on creating an inspiring, accessible, and celebratory experience.

Problem solving
One of the main challenges in this project was balancing a large amount of event information—such as sponsor lists, live auction items, and the event agenda—without overwhelming the reader. I solved this by organizing the content into clearly defined sections, using typography hierarchy and spacing to guide the eye naturally through the program. Another challenge was creating a design that felt both professional for sponsors and warm and inviting for attendees, particularly breast cancer survivors. To achieve this, I incorporated a vibrant pink palette, western-themed illustrations, and approachable fonts that maintained readability and emotional connection. Working within Adobe Illustrator, I also had to ensure that all elements were layered and grouped correctly for easy edits and future updates. I also went back and forth with my boss as this project needed many add-ons, and things changed from day to day to make it complete.
